Simone Noonan

Simone Noonan is a trial lawyer who practices criminal defense. She represents clients in a variety of matters ranging from complex federal white-collar crimes to major violent crimes charged in state court.

Simone graduated from The City University of New York School of Law in 2019 in the top 20 percent of her class. She was a competitor on the Moot Court team and co-president of the Public Interest Law Association. While in law school, she collaborated with incarcerated individuals as they prepared for their interviews with the Board of Parole in New York State. Through this advocacy, she successfully helped two individuals gain their freedom after a collective five decades of time served and over 20 denials of release from the Board of Parole.

Simone is a former Assistant Public Defender for the Miami-Dade Public Defender Office where she represented indigent defendants through all stages of their criminal proceeding. Through this high-volume litigation practice, Simone gained extensive trial experience and cultivated the ability to excel in high-stress courtroom environments. Quickly, Simone became known for her client-centered, creative, and compassionate advocacy.

In addition to her criminal defense experience, Simone has represented and advised individuals as they responded to national security and counter-terrorism policies and practices. This includes advocating to have clients removed from no-fly lists, counseling on best privacy practices, and advising on their constitutional rights in connection to TSA, FBI, and DHS enforcement.

Simone is passionate about using lawyering as a tool to help movements for social change that are built with leadership and collaboration from the people and communities who have experienced injustice. In her free time, Simone volunteers at local expungement clinics to help members of the Charlotte community live more freely, without worry that past legal hardship will follow them.
