Hanna Hamilton

Hanna Hamilton is a criminal defense attorney who focuses her practice on criminal defense in both North Carolina State and Federal court. Hanna’s work ethic is based on the principle understanding that any criminal charge, even a minor misdemeanor, can have profound consequences. Hanna’s passion for her clients stems from her own personal experience with the justice system:

“As a young adult, I had to experience what many of my client’s and their families go through; I’ve felt the heartbreak of watching a loved one walk out of a courtroom in handcuffs. My goal in every case is not only to achieve a great outcome for my client, but to also alleviate some of the pain and trauma that my clients experience from getting arrested and having to go through the criminal justice system. I wish that kind of support had been there for my family.” – Hanna

Hanna represents clients facing all types of misdemeanor and felony charges – from domestic violence cases and DWIs to felony sex offenses and white-collar investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Hanna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Appalachian State with degrees in both International Criminal Justice and International Comparative Politics. Hanna then went on to the University of North Carolina School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree with Honors. While in law school, Hanna was awarded the Gressman-Pollitt Oral Advocacy Award.

Outside of work, Hanna and her husband, Matthew, enjoy traveling to the North Carolina mountains and the Florida beaches to spend time with family. Hanna loves animals and has a calico cat, Josie, and a Goldendoodle, Willow.
